You are now in the southwest with this stunning necklace and bracelet featuring genuine turquoise, polished amber carnelian, and conch shell focal beads with lapis, turquoise, and carnelian inlay. My supplier for lapis goes to Afghanistan himself to purchase his supply of lapis lazuli and other treasures that I have used in my creations. The conch shell beads I found in Mercer Island in Washington state on my travels. They are fossilized "Chank" shells (commonly known as conch shells) that have had their crevices filled with a mixture called Gak. Gak is comprised of brass, copper, turquoise, coral and lapis. This mixture is used to fill crevices as a way to enhance the beauty of the fossilized shells but also to smooth any rough surfaces that might touch the skin. The toggle and spacer beads have an antique feel.
